Job Description

The role involves managing and optimizing Atlassian tools like JIRA and Confluence to improve operational efficiency, supporting system security and performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote, fast-paced environment within a technology-focused company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, manage, and enhance JIRA and Confluence instances, including setup, configuration, and maintenance
  • Develop and manage complex JIRA workflows, fields, dashboards, and reports to meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency
  • Own JIRA scale strategy and drive related initiatives
  • Provide training and support to JIRA and Confluence users on best practices
  • Integrate JIRA projects with other tools and software to create seamless workflows
  • Maintain system security, stability, and access controls
  • Perform upgrades, migrations, and plugin installations from start to finish
  • Analyze and improve system performance metrics for scalability and effectiveness
  • Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and continuous optimization

Requirements

  • Work in the Pacific Timezone, between 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM PT.
  • Reside in Canada, as this is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada only.
  • Ability to administer, manage, and enhance JIRA and Confluence instances, including setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Develop and manage complex JIRA workflows, fields, dashboards, and reports to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency.
  • Own the JIRA scale strategy and drive initiatives related to it.
  • Provide training and support to JIRA and Confluence users, ensuring best practices in bug tracking, issue tracking, and project management.
  • Integrate JIRA projects with other tools and software to create a seamless workflow.
  • Maintain system security, stability, and access controls for JIRA and Confluence systems.
  • Perform upgrades, migrations, and plugin installations, managing these from start to finish.
  • Analyze and improve performance metrics to ensure scalability and effectiveness of JIRA and Confluence systems.
  • Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines related to JIRA and Confluence.
  • Seek opportunities to improve workflows with a focus on continuous process improvement and optimization.
  • Drive core operations that keep the company secure and productive.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles including Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, and Win as a Team.
  • Hold a college degree in a technical program such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or other STEM fields.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience working as an Atlassian Admin role.
  • Possess strong spoken and written language skills.
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning and doing new things in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have an affinity for working with all things electronic.
  • Have knowledge of Apple products such as Macbooks and iPhones.
