Job Description
The Lead Scientist will drive the development and scaling of innovative graphite production technologies for energy and manufacturing applications, contributing to the company's mission of strengthening energy supply chains and advancing domestic manufacturing through rigorous scientific research and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research and development efforts to scale graphite technology from lab to commercial production
- Oversee and direct scientific experiments and engineering processes related to advanced materials
- Contribute to the development of scalable, low-emissions processes for high-performance graphite production
Requirements
- Proven experience in leading scientific research and development in advanced materials, with a focus on graphite or similar materials.
- Strong background in scaling laboratory experiments to commercial production processes for advanced materials.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex technical projects and contribute to shaping the company's technological direction.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment with rigorous science and rapid execution.
- Ability to work independently in a flexible work environment while maintaining high standards of scientific rigor.
- Educational background in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry), with a level of education appropriate for a senior scientific leadership role.
- Experience in developing or improving processes for energy-related materials, particularly those used in batteries, energy systems, or manufacturing supply chains.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills to present scientific findings and collaborate across teams.
- Physical and mental capacity to engage in detailed scientific research and process development activities.
