Job Description
The Project Manager I at RES is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of ecological restoration projects, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery from concept to completion while contributing to environmental sustainability efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project delivery from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and tracking milestones
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners to ensure clear communication and task alignment
- Maintain project documentation, manage permits, and support compliance efforts
- Assist in evaluating and managing project risks, scope, and changes
- Participate in team meetings, review plans, and contribute to problem-solving across disciplines
- Visit project sites to monitor progress, support fieldwork, and assess project impact
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, construction management, or related applied field
- Three (3) years of total experience in an applied science or construction field
- Comfort with basic budgeting, scheduling, and financial terms relevant to the project
- Experience with project scheduling, setting timelines and milestones, and using project management tools e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet
- Basic understanding of scope management, including how project scope is defined and controlled
- Comfort reviewing project plans, maps, and technical specifications
- Ability to support project delivery from start to finish under the guidance of Senior Project Managers, including assisting with project budgeting, scheduling, and tracking key milestones
- Ability to work with internal teams, subcontractors, and external partners to maintain clear communication and task alignment
- Ability to maintain project documentation, manage permits, and support compliance efforts
- Ability to evaluate and manage project risks, scope, and changes
- Willingness to participate in team meetings, review plans, and contribute to collaborative problem-solving across disciplines
- Willingness to visit project sites in the field to monitor progress and support fieldwork
- Ability to support some fieldwork and travel, typically 75-90% depending on location and project stage
