Job Description
A Controls Engineer responsible for developing and tuning flight-control systems for a revolutionary wing-in-ground-effect seaglider, ensuring stability, responsiveness, and safety during various flight modes through simulation, testing, and hands-on adjustments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement flight-control logic for the seaglider to ensure stability, responsiveness, and safety during various flight modes.
- Coordinate aerodynamic and hydrodynamic surfaces into an integrated control system that handles environmental disturbances like gusts and waves.
- Conduct high-fidelity simulations, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and sea trials to tune and validate control systems.
- Translate cutting-edge control theory into a certifiable, real-world mobility solution for coastal transportation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience in developing flight-control logic or control systems for complex vehicles or aerospace applications.
- Proficiency in high-fidelity simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and hands-on tuning during sea trials.
- Ability to coordinate aerodynamic and hydrodynamic surfaces into a unified, intelligent control system.
- Strong understanding of control theory and its application to real-world mobility solutions.
- Experience in turning cutting-edge control concepts into certifiable, real-world systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a software engineering team to solve complex technical challenges.
- Demonstrated engineering rigor and the ability to move fast while maintaining high standards.
