A Facilities Mechanical Engineer responsible for supporting and optimizing the operation, maintenance, and improvement of facility systems and equipment in a high-tech manufacturing environment, with a focus on reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily operations and maintain facility systems and equipment to optimize reliability, efficiency, capacity, and quality
Apply root cause analysis to improve design, installation, and operation of equipment and systems
Support commissioning of new equipment and oversee execution to ensure quality
Track and report system demand, capacity, and operational KPIs, and implement improvement projects
Provide engineering support, procedure development, and review for the technician team
Manage basic projects and oversee contractors and third-party work
Create and implement facilities processes and procedures
Collaborate across operations teams on projects to support growth and continuous improvement
Requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At least five years of relevant working experience in mechanical engineering.
At least two years of experience supporting Facilities Maintenance and Operations or Production organizations.
Experience in facilities operations in a large industrial environment, including equipment operation and maintenance for HVAC, compressors, chillers, chemical systems, scrubbers, pure water and wastewater systems.
Basic understanding of electrical and control systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis on mechanical systems at a high level.
Ability to support commissioning of new equipment and systems by developing and reviewing procedures, as well as overseeing execution to ensure a high-quality product is delivered.
Experience tracking and reporting on system demand, capacity, and operational KPIs, and identifying and implementing improvement projects.
Experience supporting the development and review of procedures related to facilities operations.
Ability to manage basic projects and provide oversight of contractors and third-party work.
Experience creating and implementing facilities processes and procedures.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of teams and disciplines in a dynamic environment.
Great leadership skills and the ability to drive actions across multiple stakeholders.
