The Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer supports large-scale battery manufacturing by analyzing and optimizing production processes, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and collaborating across teams to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Develop and implement process improvement strategies using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods
Conduct and audit time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new systems and processes
Monitor and evaluate the performance of production systems and recommend corrective actions
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as mechanical, industrial, or systems engineering.
At least 3 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience demonstrating capability and successful implementation of improvement projects.
Experience developing business cases related to automation, operating plans, or equipment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Background in operations research techniques such as linear programming and discrete event simulation.
Prior experience working with industrial scale processes and equipment.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Detail-oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, 2D CAD, any linear programming software, and discrete event simulation software.
Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE.
Ability to perform essential physical activities such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
