Job Description

The Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer supports large-scale battery manufacturing by analyzing and optimizing production processes, implementing continuous improvement strategies, and collaborating across teams to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methods
  • Conduct and audit time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new systems and processes
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of production systems and recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as mechanical, industrial, or systems engineering.
  • At least 3 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience demonstrating capability and successful implementation of improvement projects.
  • Experience developing business cases related to automation, operating plans, or equipment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Background in operations research techniques such as linear programming and discrete event simulation.
  • Prior experience working with industrial scale processes and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, 2D CAD, any linear programming software, and discrete event simulation software.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
  • Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE.
  • Ability to perform essential physical activities such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
  • The position is full-time.
