Key Responsibilities
Design and own electrical systems including medium and low voltage power distribution, lighting, raceway, grounding, and communications.
Serve as Electrical Engineer of Record, producing permit and construction drawings.
Perform power system studies such as short-circuit analysis, arc flash calculations, and protective device coordination.
Lead multi-discipline coordination to produce complete Issue for Construction (IFC) packages.
Review conceptual designs to identify technical and financial risks.
Prepare electrical specifications and conduct technical bid evaluations.
Lead code analysis to ensure designs meet NEC, IECC, NFPA, and other standards.
Provide construction administration support, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and on-site inspections.
Serve as the technical point of contact during construction and commissioning.

Advanced proficiency in AmpCalc or similar software for cable ampacity calculations.
Ability to perform power system studies including short-circuit analysis, arc flash calculations, and protective device coordination using SKM or ETAP to ensure safe and code-compliant designs.
Ability to perform cable ampacity calculations using AmpCalc or similar software to optimize cable size instead of using prescriptive tables from the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Ability to perform photometric studies using lighting design software such as Visual or AGI and make decisions on optimal lighting levels for projects.
Experience in designing and owning a wide range of electrical systems including medium voltage up to 34.5 kV feeds, low voltage power distribution, lighting, raceway, grounding, and communications.
Experience serving as Electrical Engineer of Record and responsible for producing permit and construction drawings.
Experience performing technical bid evaluations for designs produced by external design consultants.
Experience leading multi-discipline coordination with architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, fire life safety, and other design teams to produce complete Issue for Construction (IFC) packages.
Experience reviewing conceptual designs from manufacturing engineers and stakeholders to identify technical and financial risks.
Experience preparing electrical specifications and conducting technical bid evaluations.
Experience leading code analysis for NEC, IECC, and applicable NFPA standards across all project deliverables, ensuring designs meet all regulatory and compliance requirements.
Experience providing construction administration support including RFI responses, submittal reviews, change order management, and on-site inspections.
Experience serving as the technical point of contact during construction and commissioning.
Experience preparing engineering cost estimates and project schedules, performing QA/QC reviews of electrical designs, and mentoring junior engineers.
