The Software Engineering Lead - Warehouse ERP Systems is responsible for designing, building, and owning custom warehouse management and supply chain systems, including integration with ERP, to support warehouse operations and ensure smooth transition and ongoing improvement within a battery recycling company.
Key Responsibilities
Define system requirements and scope for the warehouse management system (WMS) in collaboration with stakeholders
Lead the development and customization of the WMS, ensuring integration with ERP and manufacturing systems
Hire, direct, and oversee a small engineering team through build, deployment, and maintenance of the WMS
Own and evolve the WMS as the company's operational backbone post-implementation
Coordinate with warehouse operators, finance, and operations to ensure the WMS meets operational needs
Manage product definition, scope decisions, and continuous improvement of the WMS
Requirements
Direct experience building, implementing, or heavily customizing warehouse management or supply chain systems, with an understanding of how receiving, inventory, and shipping actually work
Ability to define product scope from stakeholder conversations, including determining what should be built and why, rather than just building to specifications
Clear, direct communication skills to interview floor operators, negotiate scope boundaries with cross-functional teams, and report status up
Technical expertise to direct a small engineering team building on Python, React, and AWS, following established patterns
Willingness to be on-site in Nevada at least 3 days a week
