Job Description
The Senior Construction Project Engineer at Redwood Materials is responsible for managing construction activities related to battery recycling and manufacturing facilities, ensuring project schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met while coordinating with various teams and maintaining safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all scopes of construction including scheduling, inspections, and compliance to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, and material requirements to ensure quality and adherence to contract specifications.
- Track project schedule and budget performance, identify risks, and communicate schedule changes and solutions to the team.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement processes, and project scope schedules.
- Oversee daily construction activities, materials, equipment, and resource availability to ensure on-time and within-budget production.
- Ensure safety and compliance through job hazard analyses, permits, inspections, and safety meetings.
- Plan field layout, coordinate subcontractor work, and manage project documentation and quality assurance processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of construction engineering, scheduling, or design experience is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of cost coding, cost savings, budget, and other project-related financial implications is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices is required.
- Intermediate interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to build positive relationships towards a common goal, are required.
- Knowledge of construction equipment techniques, drawing specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to the project is required.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others is required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Proven self-starter and self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge is required.
- Construction engineering experience or knowledge is required.
- Physical ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, including lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, bending, lifting objects over 50 lbs, walking up and down stairs carrying weight, and working in various environments including outdoors and inclement weather conditions, is required.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Full-time employment status is required.
