Job Description

The Senior Construction Project Engineer at Redwood Materials is responsible for managing construction activities related to battery recycling and manufacturing facilities, ensuring project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction scopes, including scheduling trade contractors, utility, structure, and vendor installations.
  • Perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Track project schedule and budget, and analyze project data to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Coordinate and manage RFIs, submittals, procurement requests, and scope schedules.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, including schedule, budget, and production metrics.
  • Ensure safety compliance through job hazard analyses and safety meetings.
  • Manage permits, certificates, inspections, and other documentation related to construction activities.
  • Plan field layout and utility markings, and coordinate subcontractor work methods and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of construction engineering, scheduling, or design experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of cost coding, cost savings, budget management, and other project-related financial implications is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices is required.
  • Intermediate interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to build positive relationships towards a common goal, are required.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment techniques, drawing specifications, building materials, and standards applicable to the project is required.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Proven self-starter and self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge is required.
  • Construction engineering experience or knowledge is required.
  • Physical ability to safely perform essential job functions, including lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, bending, lifting objects over 50 lbs, walking up and down stairs with weight, and working in various environments including outdoors and inclement weather conditions, is required.
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
  • Full-time employment status is required.
