Job Description
A Quality Technician at Redwood Materials is responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing manufacturing processes and products to ensure quality standards are met, supporting root cause investigations, managing non-conforming materials, and collaborating with engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in energy storage and battery material production.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance
- Drive root cause investigations for product, in-process, and incoming quality issues
- Collect and analyze product and process data to ensure specifications are met
- Support the control and disposition of non-conforming material
- Assist with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities
- Analyze production data to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk material
- Provide sampling support for in-process and finished products
- Support management of change initiatives across the organization
- Collaborate with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processes
- Perform rework on non-conforming material to recover final yield
Requirements
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or related fields
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing environments as a technician, engineering tech, or similar role
- Experience in transitioning operations from development to high-volume manufacturing
- Strong safety discipline with knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safe work practices
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance
- Ability to drive root cause investigations for product, in-process, and incoming quality issues
- Ability to collect and analyze product and process data with engineering teams to ensure specifications are well-defined and met
- Experience supporting the control and disposition of non-conforming material
- Experience assisting with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before they become quality issues
- Ability to analyze production data using quality tools to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk material
- Experience providing sampling support for in-process and finished products as required
- Ability to support management of change initiatives across the organization
- Ability to collaborate with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processes
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and production goals
- Willingness and physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions in an indoor production environment with typical exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions

Work schedule transitioning to 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Sunday Tuesday or Thursday Saturday) with flexibility to support different shifts
