Job Description
The Senior Packaging Engineer at Redwood Materials is responsible for developing and implementing sustainable packaging solutions for electric vehicle and clean energy products, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while optimizing efficiency across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop packaging solutions for various products, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct testing and certification from applicable authorities for packaging solutions.
- Implement and maintain packaging standards and protocols for all products and processes.
- Act as a primary contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders during new package development.
- Solve packaging problems by collaborating with production facilities and suppliers.
- Develop cost containment and quality improvement ideas through research of materials and technology.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material innovation and training for the Logistics Department.
- Assist in researching environmental compliance requirements for packaging components.
- Stay informed on trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in packaging design within a technology or manufacturing company.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technology, and equipment.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for shipping hazardous materials.
- Experience conducting testing and certification from applicable authorities for packaging solutions.
- Ability to implement and maintain packaging standards and protocols for products and processes.
- Experience in problem solving processes related to packaging issues.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements involving packaging components.
