The Senior Manager, Global Supply Chain CapEx is responsible for leading the procurement, logistics, and supplier management of capital equipment to support Redwood Materials' manufacturing expansion, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and strategic sourcing aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global sourcing strategy and procurement of capital equipment for Redwood's manufacturing facilities
Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including requirements definition, RFQ/RFP development, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract execution
Develop and maintain a qualified supplier base supporting capacity expansion and cost reduction initiatives
Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Project Management to define equipment specifications, lead times, and acceptance criteria
Lead design concept development, validate solutions, and define engineering workflows and project milestones
Coordinate activities with suppliers, contractors, and vendors, including contract management, bid leveling, and purchase order processing
Manage supplier relationships through regular performance reviews, onboarding, and dispute resolution
Oversee international and domestic equipment logistics, including customs, freight, and delivery scheduling
Monitor procurement activities, costs, and project progress, providing reports and dashboards for leadership
Develop and improve sourcing policies, procurement workflows, and compliance standards
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies within the supply chain
Mentor and develop junior team members to build organizational capability
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
At least 8 years of progressive supply chain or procurement experience, with a minimum of 4 years focused on capital equipment in a manufacturing, energy, or industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-value capital equipment procurements.
Strong knowledge of global supplier landscapes for industrial machinery, process equipment, or battery manufacturing equipment.
Proven negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings and favorable contract terms.
Experience with international logistics, including incoterms, customs, and trade compliance.
Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar procurement tools.
Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
Strong communication skills and executive presence, comfortable presenting to leadership and stakeholders.
Ability to coordinate international and domestic equipment shipments, including import-export compliance, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and final-mile delivery.
Experience developing and implementing sourcing policies, procurement workflows, and supplier qualification standards specific to capital equipment.
Ability to develop and deploy spend management policies, monitor and manage internal compliance, and create procurement KPIs, metrics, and dashboards.
Experience managing supplier relationships, including conducting regular supplier business reviews, qualifying and onboarding new suppliers, managing escalations, and resolving disputes.
Experience supporting the capital expenditure (CapEx) planning process with accurate lead time, pricing, and supplier capacity data.
Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Project Management teams to define equipment specifications, lead times, and acceptance criteria.
Experience leading design concept development efforts, working directly with engineers to vet and validate solutions, and defining engineering workflows and plans.
Ability to monitor and measure project design processes, identify potential issues and risks, and provide corrective actions.
Experience managing procurement activities for consumables and specialty materials required for applications and product development.
Ability to develop and continuously improve sourcing policies, procurement workflows, and supplier qualification standards.
Knowledge of compliance with Redwood’s Code of Conduct, ESG commitments, and relevant trade regulations such as ITAR, EAR, and OFAC.
Willingness to travel as required at company expense.
Experience in supplier relationship management, including conducting supplier business reviews and managing strategic supplier partnerships.
