Job Description

The Senior Construction Manager, Self Perform Electrical oversees and manages electrical construction teams and activities for Redwood Materials' projects, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality standards are met from preconstruction through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee electrical self-perform teams, including scheduling, procurement, and installation activities.
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, maintenance, and operations departments throughout project phases.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards through safety reviews, meetings, and inspections.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, procedures, staffing, and equipment resources to meet deadlines.
  • Assess design and specification documents for completeness and resolve conflicts with designers and teams.
  • Supervise construction activities, including scope coordination, constructability reviews, and addressing schedule conflicts.
  • Manage budgets, project cash flow, and resource allocation for multiple projects.
  • Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, government agencies, and contractors.
  • Lead project closeout, including finalizing contracts, resolving disputes, and conducting debriefs.
  • Direct and manage teams of superintendents, tradesmen, and field crews for electrical and mechanical scopes.

Requirements

  • Twenty (20) years of experience in construction supervision is required.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in managing field personnel is required.
  • Ten (10) years of electrical construction experience as both a tradesman and supervisor is required.
  • Experience driving trades workers to meet safety, schedule, and production milestones is required.
  • Experience managing multiple field crews for both electrical and process piping scopes is imperative.
  • Extensive experience with industrial and commercial MEP Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems is required.
  • Experience in plant shutdown scheduling and coordination to meet shutdown and operational milestones is required.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs carrying weight.
  • Must be able to work in environments such as office or outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, or type as part of physical requirements.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, nights, or be on call as a regular part of the job.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is a plus.
