Job Description

The Quality Technician at Redwood Materials is responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing product and process quality, supporting investigations and continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment focused on energy storage and battery materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance
  • Drive root cause investigations for product, in-process, and incoming quality issues
  • Collect and analyze product and process data to ensure specifications are met
  • Support the control and disposition of non-conforming material
  • Assist with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities
  • Analyze production data to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk material
  • Provide sampling support for in-process and finished products
  • Support management of change initiatives across the organization
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processes
  • Perform rework on non-conforming material to recover final yield

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or related fields
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing environments as a technician, engineering tech, or similar role
  • Strong safety discipline with experience in LOTO, PPE, and safe work practices
  • Experience in transitioning operations from development to high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience with the development and use of quality tools as well as other quality system elements
  • Previous exposure to quality systems and international standards
  • Adept with process data acquisition and quality analysis tools
  • Ability to perform inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance
  • Ability to collect and analyze product and process data with engineering teams to ensure specifications are well-defined and met
  • Support the control and disposition of non-conforming material
  • Assist with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before they become quality issues
  • Analyze production data using quality tools to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk material
  • Provide sampling support for in-process and finished product as required
  • Support management of change initiatives across the organization
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processes
  • Work with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and production goals
  • Perform rework on non-conforming material to recover final yield
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions
  • Work in an indoor production environment with typical exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions
