The Quality Technician at Redwood Materials is responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing product and process quality, supporting investigations and continuous improvement efforts in a manufacturing environment focused on energy storage and battery materials.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance
Drive root cause investigations for product, in-process, and incoming quality issues
Collect and analyze product and process data to ensure specifications are met
Support the control and disposition of non-conforming material
Assist with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities
Analyze production data to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk material
Provide sampling support for in-process and finished products
Support management of change initiatives across the organization
Collaborate with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processes
Perform rework on non-conforming material to recover final yield
Requirements
Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or related fields
2 years of experience in manufacturing environments as a technician, engineering tech, or similar role
Strong safety discipline with experience in LOTO, PPE, and safe work practices
Experience in transitioning operations from development to high-volume manufacturing
Experience with the development and use of quality tools as well as other quality system elements
Previous exposure to quality systems and international standards
Adept with process data acquisition and quality analysis tools
Ability to perform inspections, audits, and testing to evaluate product and process performance
Ability to collect and analyze product and process data with engineering teams to ensure specifications are well-defined and met
Support the control and disposition of non-conforming material
Assist with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before they become quality issues
Analyze production data using quality tools to identify potential non-conforming or at-risk material
Provide sampling support for in-process and finished product as required
Support management of change initiatives across the organization
Collaborate with engineering teams to validate new product designs, equipment, and processes
Work with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and production goals
Perform rework on non-conforming material to recover final yield
Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions
Work in an indoor production environment with typical exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions
