Job Description
The Sorting Specialist supports battery sorting operations by handling, moving, and sorting batteries and materials in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment, ensuring smooth production flow and proper preparation for shipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle, move, and sort batteries and packaging using material-handling equipment
- Operate and support automated sorting equipment, including feeding materials and monitoring performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety protocols
Requirements
- Ability to operate and support automated sorting equipment by feeding materials, monitoring performance, making routine adjustments, and escalating issues as needed
- Ability to handle, move, and sort live batteries and associated packaging using forklifts and other material-handling equipment
- Ability to comply with all safety and PPE requirements, including wearing a fitted respirator for the full shift
- Complete a respiratory fit test and medical evaluation and wear a fitted respirator for the full shift
- Ability to stand for extended periods, more than 80% of the shift
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights
- Ability to stoop, bend, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrated compliance with written and verbal instructions
- Strong commitment to safety and following PPE requirements, including respirator use while working
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures, including heat and cold
- Full-time employment with shift Monday-Friday Days
- Physical ability to support work in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment involving manual handling and operation of equipment
