Job Description
The Manager of Inventory Control oversees enterprise-wide inventory accuracy, leads a team to maintain precise records, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory processes, support production, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced battery manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records in Oracle WMS and ensure real-time visibility across facilities.
- Lead and develop the inventory control team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive initiatives to optimize inventory processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
- Implement automation and digital tools to improve inventory accuracy and operational agility.
- Analyze inventory data to forecast needs, monitor trends, and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, logistics, and finance to align inventory strategies with operational goals.
- Ensure compliance with inventory management standards and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and oversee audit controls to safeguard inventory integrity.
- Manage inventory management systems and partner with IT on system enhancements.
- Identify root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Provide reporting on inventory accuracy, KPIs, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance Accounting, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain management.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role leading teams in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain management.
- Proven success in leading teams and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and data visualization tools is a plus.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking.
- Willingness to work in an office setting and manufacturing floor environment.
- Availability to work extended hours as needed, including occasional or frequent travel for meetings, site visits, or events.
