The Electrical Maintenance Technician supports a manufacturing environment by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical and electromechanical systems to ensure maximum equipment availability, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain electrical distribution, automation, and electromechanical systems supporting production.
Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and electromechanical issues with effective solutions.
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including power distribution, control panels, lighting, PLCs, motor controls, and drives.
Support installation of new equipment, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Respond to unplanned maintenance events to restore operations quickly and safely.
Comply with safety standards, PPE requirements, and regulatory guidelines such as NEC and NFPA 70E.
Participate in safety activities like LOTO, JHA, job walks, shift pass-downs, and CMMS documentation.
Requirements
Five (5) years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Journeyman level or higher electrical certification or qualification
Experience with 480 VAC and lower voltages, electrical cabinets, motor controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), drives, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and ladder logic
Ability to read and interpret electrical mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
Experience with pneumatic hydraulic systems, automation, and highly automated manufacturing environments
Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in production environments
Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E safety standards with a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and standard computer applications for documentation and reporting
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing over 80% of the shift and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
Ability to complete required respiratory fit testing and medical evaluation and work a full shift while wearing required PPE, including full-face respirators, SCBA or supplied-air systems, Tyvek suits, and PAPRs, as required for the role
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing ladders and stairs
Ability to operate and perform maintenance on equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other specialized machinery
Work performed in varied environments, both indoors and outdoors, year-round, with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperature conditions, including heat and cold, for extended periods
Availability to work a shift from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Thursday through Saturday, with every other Wednesday off, including a 15% differential
