A Field Service Technician responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining solar and battery storage systems across various locations, involving travel, equipment inspections, and collaboration with teams to support renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair solar and battery storage systems, including electrical and mechanical components
Perform routine maintenance and inspections of solar panels, inverters, and battery storage units
Operate specialized tools and equipment for system installation and repairs
Manage field-based projects and oversee contractors and third-party work
Create and implement standard work instructions (SWIs) for field service tasks
Complete daily task lists and respond to field service work requests
Address electro-mechanical issues related to solar and battery systems
Collaborate with operations teams to support growth and continuous improvement
Requirements
At least two years of experience in electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair, preferably in solar or battery storage systems.
Strong background in electrical systems and mechanical maintenance.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair solar and battery storage systems, including electrical and mechanical components, at a high level.
Proficiency in maintaining and using tools and equipment necessary for field service duties.
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., bend, lift, and walk up and down stairs carrying weight.
Ability to safely perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
Must be able to communicate clearly via telephone.
Frequent travel required, including weekly trips to field locations.
Work in outdoor environments, including exposure to inclement weather, hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat and cold.
Essential physical activities include climbing, standing, stooping, and using specialized tools.
Required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
