The Development Engineering Technician supports research and pilot-scale operations by building and maintaining laboratory and manufacturing equipment, conducting experiments, and assisting in the development of new processes and metrology systems to advance sustainable battery materials.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain laboratory and pilot-scale equipment
Prepare solutions and conduct wet-chemistry bench experiments
Perform chemical analyses, optical measurements, and mechanical tests
Monitor and troubleshoot experiments in lab and high-volume manufacturing environments
Support the development and validation of new metrology systems
Requirements
Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on laboratory experience, including building complex mechanical systems
Laboratory experience in wet-chemistry and bench top experiments
Ability to prepare solutions and conduct wet-chemistry bench experiments
Ability to perform chemical analyses, optical measurements, and mechanical tests
Experience building and maintaining pilot and lab equipment
Support the development and validation of new metrology systems and prove their capabilities
Ability to follow and apply established procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements
Ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and competing deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to hazardous materials and challenging conditions such as noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes while wearing required PPE for extended periods
Physical ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards
Must be able to communicate clearly
Travel as needed

Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Split work environment between office and production facility
Work may involve extended periods in challenging conditions with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes while wearing PPE
May require occasional work on weekends or alternate shifts
