Job Description

The Compliance Quality Engineer supports the energy storage systems program by ensuring regulatory and standards requirements are correctly implemented, verifiable, and maintained throughout product design, manufacturing, certification, and deployment, acting as a bridge between compliance standards and manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and ensure compliance-critical quality requirements and objective evidence from design through certification and post-certification.
  • Maintain traceability and consistency of compliance evidence across drawings, labels, records, test reports, manuals, and certification files.
  • Own product labeling, markings, ratings, and safety information to meet regulatory and certification standards.
  • Lead readiness activities for NRTL follow-up services, including preparation, execution, corrective actions, and closure.
  • Support internal, customer, and independent audits related to compliance and certification, and manage corrective actions.
  • Maintain and support certification documentation for certifications, customer audits, and regulatory reviews, ensuring alignment with design and manufacturing changes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations to implement compliance requirements on the manufacturing floor and define end-of-line checks.
  • Support compliance testing programs, ensure test evidence is complete and traceable, and close gaps between test intent and certification standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve compliance gaps, interpret standards, and ensure real-world implementation aligns with standards.
  • Support certification submittals, data packages, and responses to regulatory inquiries, maintaining documentation accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, quality, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in compliance engineering, quality engineering, or regulated product environments.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying technical standards, codes, and certification requirements.
  • Direct experience supporting audits, certifications, inspections, or NRTL follow-up services.
  • Strong systems thinking with the ability to manage requirements, evidence, and change over time.
  • Clear, precise written communication skills focused on accuracy and audit defensibility.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple workstreams, and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.
