Job Description
The Associate Manager, Logistics oversees daily transportation operations, manages a logistics team, and implements process improvements to ensure efficient and cost-effective shipping and delivery services within a fast-growing battery recycling company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily logistics operations, including transportation activities and carrier selection
- Supervise logistics team members, including scheduling, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Implement cross-training programs to enhance team versatility
- Oversee international and domestic shipments, claims, and transportation reporting
- Analyze logistics operations to identify bottlenecks and improve processes
- Develop and monitor logistics KPIs and metrics to optimize costs and capacity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support logistics process improvements
Requirements
- Manage daily logistics operations executions, focusing on seamless coordination of transportation activities, ensuring operational targets are met, workflows remain efficient, and pick-up delivery schedules are consistently achieved without disruption.
- Direct daily shipping and transportation activities, ensuring best carrier selections and mode utilization, and ensuring accurate, timely delivery.
- Manage logistics operations center personnel, including daily activities, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Implement a comprehensive cross-training program to expand the team s skillset and support various functions within the department.
- Manage a team of employees responsible for international and domestic shipments, claims, and transportation reporting.
- Analyze logistics day-to-day operations to identify bottlenecks, improve processes, and reduce transportation costs.
- Assist in identifying gaps and inefficiencies and implementing countermeasures to enhance operational performance.
- Aid in the development of logistics KPIs and metrics to drive cost management, capacity management, and vendor management.
- Partner with transportation operations, supply chain sourcing, accounting, and various stakeholders across multiple business units to provide cross-functional support and drive logistics process improvements.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of logistics experience.
- Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer skills and transportation management systems.
