A Pre-Sales Systems Engineer responsible for designing, architecting, and demonstrating storage solutions to enterprise and government clients, supporting sales efforts with technical expertise and innovative data storage strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Design, architect, and deploy secure, simplified, and sustainable data storage solutions for enterprise and government clients.
Understand customer business needs and translate them into technical solutions using Pure Storage and ecosystem products.
Collaborate with sales teams and partners to develop strategies that drive revenue growth and new business opportunities.
Lead technical evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations to demonstrate product capabilities.
Create and deliver technical presentations and responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs to secure technical wins.
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation of storage solutions.
Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and product positioning to promote thought leadership.
Support the technical aspects of sales processes, including requirements gathering and solution customization.
Requirements
Pre-sales experience is required.
Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications.
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
Contribute significant portions and/or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN, Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environment.
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus.
Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures is a plus.
Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture is a plus.
Curiosity and passion for technology, with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.
Ability to work from the OFFICE_LOCATION office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle, is highly desirable.
