Job Description
The role involves working as a DevOps Engineer in a tools and infrastructure automation capacity, focusing on improving efficiency through scripting, system integration, and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- •Work with a team of system admins and coders in a tools and infrastructure automation role
- •Write automation scripts to enhance user self-service and infrastructure problem detection
- •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and implement new systems
- •Research and identify products for ease of management and scaling
- •Architect and develop automated monitoring and alerts
- •Mentor and provide guidance to junior DevOps engineers
- •Participate in a periodic on-call rotation as needed
- •Work autonomously with minimal supervision
Requirements
- •6 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- •3 years of experience supporting CI/CD or DevOps toolchains with tools like Git, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Vault, or similar products.
- •Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, or Bash.
- •Experience with configuration management systems such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or Terraform.
- •The ability to understand APIs and how to interact with them.
- •Strong experience around service operations and the service lifecycle.
- •Experience working with and building out resource deployments in hybrid cloud environments.
- •Working knowledge of monitoring and alerting systems using Nagios, Splunk, or similar products.
- •Experience being in an on-call rotation and triaging production issues.
- •Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- •Excellent problem-solving skills.
