Job Description
The BI Engineer - Snowflake developer at Pure Storage is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing business intelligence solutions using Snowflake as the data warehouse platform, while creating interactive dashboards in Tableau and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the life cycle of analytics dashboards and standard reporting.
- Gather business requirements and write functional specifications.
- Design, develop, and implement BI solutions using Snowflake.
- Create engaging and interactive business insights dashboards in Tableau.
- Communicate with stakeholders to produce and maintain datasets and documentation.
- Mentor junior teammates.
- Perform data integration, ETL, and data warehousing tasks.
- Propose data schema and flow optimization for reporting performance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to translate requirements into insights.
- Create and maintain business requirements and technical documentation.
Requirements
- 8 years experience in Data Engineering of highly scalable data platforms ecosystems.
- 5 years experience in Snowflake with knowledge in distributed computing preferred.
- Hands-on experience on Python and Pyspark.
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Experience with data integration, ETL, and data warehousing concepts.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, database design, and SQL.
- Proficiency in SQL and database table design able to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets.
- Demonstrated innate passion for Data Engineering and data architecture pertaining to Analytics.
- Knowledge of Cloud data solutions, data engineering, data platforms and analytics and modern ways of automating data ingesting using cloud-based and on-premise technologies.
- Experience in a role performing data warehouse and analytics solution design and development using a variety of techniques.
- Understanding of data architecture design, data modeling, and physical database design and tuning.
- Experience creating and maintaining business requirements and other technical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Statistics, or a related field.
