Job Description

The Security Operations Engineer will lead efforts to reduce organizational risk by managing vulnerability lifecycle, architecting Zero Trust connectivity, automating detection and remediation processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture across cloud, endpoint, and SaaS environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead vulnerability management and risk-based remediation across cloud, container, and endpoint environments.
Engineer and manage Zero Trust connectivity, including SSL/TLS inspection and policy enforcement.
Architect secrets detection and remediation within CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps teams.
Develop detection queries and deception strategies using Splunk and automation tools like Python or SOAR.
Conduct adversary simulations and validate security controls through targeted testing.
Translate technical security findings into risk assessments and communicate with executive stakeholders.

Requirements

Deep experience in security operations and vulnerability management within enterprise environments, including hands-on experience with asset discovery and secrets detection tools such as runZero, TruffleHog, or GitLeaks.
Technical depth in configuring and operating Zero Trust platforms specifically Zscaler ZIA ZPA, including SSL inspection design and policy tuning.
Experience securing major cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Proficiency in SIEM detection engineering using Splunk.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, with the ability to automate detection queries and remediation workflows.
Experience integrating secrets scanning and automated remediation workflows directly into CI/CD pipelines.
Practical experience with threat emulation and deception technologies mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
Ability to partner with engineering teams to prioritize remediation and translate technical risk into business-relevant language.
Ability to simulate adversary tactics and validate defenses using tools such as Atomic Red Team.
Ability to produce technical reports and communicate risk mitigation strategies to executive leadership.
Work from the company's Santa Clara, CA or Lehi, UT office in accordance with company policies.
The role is primarily an in-office environment, with no specific mention of remote work options.
The annual base salary range is $120,000 to $180,000 USD, with potential eligibility for incentive pay and/or equity.
