As a Senior Systems QA Engineer on the FlashArray team, you will be the final guardian of quality for the world’s most innovative, mission-critical storage portfolio. You’ll collaborate across Software Engineering and Support teams to ensure our customers experience 100% uptime while leveraging cutting-edge cloud integrations. Your mission is to bridge the gap between complex hardware-software stacks and seamless user experiences, driving the reliability that defines our brand.
• Drive Release Integrity: Own the end-to-end qualification and strategy for major shipping releases, ensuring every update strengthens our reputation for "never-down" reliability.
• Architect Automated Resilience: Design and build sophisticated Python-based automation tools and frameworks to simplify integration workflows and eliminate manual testing bottlenecks.
• Engineer System Reliability: Lead the triage and root-cause analysis of complex failures across multi-machine stacks, collaborating with Escalation teams to resolve high-impact customer scenarios.
• Innovate Test Strategy: Define comprehensive test plans for next-generation storage features—including high availability and cloud-native applications—to identify corner cases before they reach production.
• Optimize Performance: Analyze I/O paths, latency, and throughput trade-offs to ensure our products outperform industry standards in real-world customer workloads.
• We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa, Clara, CA office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
• Storage Ecosystem Expertise: Deep technical command of the storage stack (RAID, Deduplication, NVMe, iSCSI) and virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, or OpenStack.
• Automation Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Python and a proven track record of building automated test suites that scale across complex hardware/software environments.
• Systems Architecture Fluency: A comprehensive understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows), file systems, and how customer workloads interact with block storage.
• Analytical Problem Solving: The ability to deconstruct intricate system failures, perform rigorous root-cause analysis, and design creative testing scenarios for high-availability clusters.
• Collaborative Communication: A natural curiosity and the ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions clearly to cross-functional engineering and support partners.
• Knowledge of Storage stack: high availability, caching, flash drives, RAIDs, dedup/compression etc.
• Interoperability testing; firmware updates; backwards compatibility; upgrade paths; deployment with customer‑use cases
• Experience working in hardware labs or data centers with Storage arrays
• Knowledge of storage protocols such as Fibre Channel, FCoE, iSCSI, NVMe, SCSI, NFS, SMB
