Job Description
The role involves leading a regional solutions and product engineering team, driving technical strategy, supporting sales growth, managing client engagements, and fostering a strong team culture within a cutting-edge data storage company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and orchestrate technical resources within the APJ region to support sales and growth strategies.
- Engage directly with sales and pre-sales teams to develop and execute regional sales plans.
- Manage and analyze the sales pipeline, forecasts, and technical metrics to ensure revenue growth.
- Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team of System Engineers and Managers to ensure technical success.
- Align technical messaging and resources across cross-functional teams and regional partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, partners, and industry networks to support regional objectives.
- Evaluate team performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement process optimizations.
- Represent the company at industry events, promote solutions, and establish thought leadership in the region.
Requirements
- Substantial experience of successfully leading a senior technical team in a regional role, with a focus on orchestrating all technical resources within the APJ region regardless of reporting structure.
- Proven track record of working on and leading large IT projects, including consulting, pre-sales and post-sales transformational IT services, or IT design and build projects in IT departments.
- Experience in selling into large organizations and a thorough understanding of what it takes to be successful in a large organization selling environment.
- Ability to establish oneself as a thought leader and trusted advisor with key senior client stakeholders during client engagements.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and work well with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in helping to grow revenue within a high-performing and transforming region, including working alongside sales leadership to define and execute regional strategies.
- Ability to engage directly with pre-sales and sales leadership to strategize on team opportunities and ensure correct engagement on pre-sales activities.
- Experience in leading, reporting, and analyzing the pipeline and forecast from a technical perspective.
- Proven ability to hire, lead, and develop a world-class team of System Engineers, Managers, and Systems Engineers, ensuring technical success throughout the sales process.
- Experience in developing, improving, and maintaining resources to meet and exceed sales goals while supporting customer and partner needs.
- Ability to ensure all overlay team resources are aligned to the region’s success.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and conducting regular 1-on-1s with team members to provide constructive feedback and skills development.
- Experience ensuring every employee has an Individual Development Plan.
- Ability to build relationships and alignment with technical counterparts within regional alliance and channel partners.
- Deep understanding of key sales metrics related to sales and how the system engineering team can contribute to improving those metrics.
- Deep understanding of key metrics for the system engineering team and leveraging those metrics to measure team progress and achievement.
- Experience ensuring system engineers have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively execute processes, including regular performance evaluations and process optimization.
- Ability to uphold and promote the company’s culture, values, and recognition of outstanding behaviors.
- Strong ethical standards and personal integrity, with a commitment to treating people with respect and caring about the company and its people.
- Willingness to work primarily from the Singapore office in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
