Job Description
The role involves leading regional communications strategies for the Asia Pacific Japan region, including public relations, analyst relations, and executive communications, to enhance the company's visibility and reputation across multiple countries in alignment with global goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional communications program aligned with global goals and local business objectives
- Manage relationships with journalists, industry analysts, influencers, and internal stakeholders
- Create and implement impactful communications activations and company milestone campaigns
- Develop compelling storylines and thought leadership content for the APJ region
- Oversee external and internal communications platforms for regional leadership
- Manage PR agencies, vendors, and spokesperson programs to ensure effective messaging
- Handle crisis and issues management within the region
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to share ideas and strategies
- Manage the APJ communications budget and operations to ensure ROI
- Mentor and manage the APJ communications team
Requirements
- A minimum of 12-15 years of proven experience ideally a combination of agency and in-house positions in a business-to-business (B2B) technology environment.
- Demonstrable success in leading the development and execution of communications strategies and plans including public relations (PR), analyst relations (AR), and executive communications that achieved results across multiple APJ countries.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent media and analyst relationships with an interest in developing more.
- Understanding of the APJ markets and knowledge of how to localize corporate information for impactful regional execution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and juggle multiple projects at once.
- Experience partnering across different functions, particularly with regional sales leaders, field marketing, global communications, and corporate teams.
- Ability to measure communications results against established KPIs.
- Experience managing and supporting a network of PR agencies and third-party vendors.
- Ability to work across time zones.
- A positive, high-energy, solutions-oriented team-player attitude.
- Passion for technology and innovation.
- Experience in leading and executing regional communications programs that align with global goals and meet local business objectives.
- Experience in managing external and internal communications platforms for business leaders, including developing narratives, managing media and analyst engagements, social channels, and speaking opportunities.
- Experience in managing the APJ communications budget and operations to ensure activities deliver a strong return on investment.
- Experience in managing local crisis and issues.
- Participation in customer reference programs to leverage critical stories in communications activations.
- Ability to collaborate closely with international peers to facilitate sharing and scaling of ideas across regions.
- Experience in managing and mentoring a communications team member or manager.
