A Consulting Pre-Sales Systems Engineer responsible for providing technical leadership, customer engagement, and solution design in enterprise storage and data infrastructure, supporting sales efforts and driving digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and support alongside SEMs.
Understand customer business drivers and translate needs into solutions.
Develop and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and EBC activities.
Capture customer requirements and design innovative storage solutions.
Lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability and testing.
Create technical content such as whitepapers and web presentations.
Stay current with industry trends, competitors, and emerging storage architectures.
Serve as a solution expert in complex POC and TCO calculations.
Collaborate with account teams and partners to create seamless customer experiences.
Requirements
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience
Pre-sales experience is required
8 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications
Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts
Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions
Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture
Strong knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN
Superior knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, Linux distributed network environment, installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems
Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP cloud platforms
Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes (k8s), and microservices architectures
Experience with storage-intensive applications and their requirements such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
