Job Description
This role involves providing technical leadership and support in enterprise storage solutions, developing customer-centric technology strategies, and contributing to sales and marketing efforts within a cutting-edge data storage company.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and support as a role model and mentor for Systems Engineers
- Develop an understanding of customer business drivers and motivations
- Create social media content such as blogs and posts
- Connect technology solutions to measurable customer business outcomes
- Collaborate with account teams to enhance customer experience and drive revenue
- Refine sales strategies and take responsibility for technical aspects
- Demonstrate expertise in storage products, architectures, and competitive offerings
- Conduct presentations, solution demonstrations, and participate in executive briefings
- Translate customer needs into innovative storage solutions
- Lead or contribute to responses for RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Identify and promote opportunities for interoperability and performance testing
- Produce marketing materials like whitepapers and web presentations
- Stay current with industry trends, competition, and promote thought leadership
- Serve as a solution expert in complex proof-of-concept and total cost of ownership calculations
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience
- Pre-sales experience is required
- 8 or more years of relevant experience in technology, design, and communications
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions
- Familiarity with modern web architecture such as LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN
- Knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
- Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, Linux distributed network environment, installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystem, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, windowing systems
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP (preferred)
- Ability to support and lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Strong technical leadership and support skills to act as a role model and mentor for other Systems Engineers
- Ability to connect technology solutions, including the Pure Storage portfolio and others from the ecosystem, to measurable customer business outcomes
- Ability to develop an exhaustive understanding of customer’s business drivers and decision-making processes
- Capability to develop and deliver presentations, solution demonstrations, and participate in Executive Briefing Center activities
- Ability to capture customer requirements and translate them into innovative solutions to accelerate growth and capacity
- Strong communication skills for liaising with product and technical marketing to produce materials such as whitepapers and web presentations
- Ability to stay current with competition and market trends to promote thought leadership
- Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity, with a curiosity and passion for technology
- Ability to contribute significantly or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Willingness to move with market trends and competitive landscape to promote differentiated solution positioning

Compensation/salary range: 151,000 - 228,000 USD annually, determined based on role, level, and location
