Key Responsibilities
Plus Power is looking to hire a Finance and Capital Markets Analyst to join the company’s finance team. This individual will support all aspects of project finance transactions for Plus Power’s battery storage projects including construction financing, term debt/back-leverage and tax equity. Key responsibilities include creating and managing complex financial models, supporting the due diligence process, project management of financing deliverables, and coordinating with external financing parties to support the closing and funding of transactions. In addition, you will assist the finance team in bidding and structuring offtake agreements and executing on project acquisitions and project sales. This individual will get broad exposure to all aspects of the energy storage development and financing process and will collaborate with all functional teams across the company. This role includes significant responsibilities and room for growth within the company.
Transaction Support: Support all aspects of debt and tax equity financing transactions, including preparation of marketing materials, due diligence, management of external consultants, and financial modeling.
Project Modeling: Own all aspects of project financial models throughout the project lifecycle, including development, construction and operations. Modeling activities include project optimization, offtake bidding, and sourcing and vetting model inputs with experts in various groups across the company (Development, Interconnection, Markets, EPC, Origination, Asset Management).
Data Analytics & Tools : Support the creation of dashboards, reports, and analytics to support senior management decision making and reporting to corporate investors
Market Analysis: Analyze macroeconomic and ISO-level trends, including impacts of tax law changes, interest rate environments, and broader sector trends, and their effect on the viability of the company’s portfolio.
Cross-Functional Support and Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams within Plus Power to perform economic analysis and support key business decisions, including PPA pricing, optimization of project design, major equipment selection and O&M contract negotiation.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or related field
1-2 years of project finance transaction experience at a developer, investment bank, project finance lender, tax equity investor, or infrastructure investor; OR finance/technical degree from a rigorous undergraduate program and completion of (or willingness to complete) a financial modeling course
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Microsoft Excel, including experience with project financial modeling
Tax equity modeling experience a plus
Specific experience in energy storage, renewables, or gas a plus
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a cross-functional environment with team members who are geographically dispersed
Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail
Experience managing large projects with multiple stakeholders on tight timelines
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill and present complex information clearly and succinctly to internal and external stakeholders, including financing counterparties.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and interact effectively with individuals across a range of roles, seniority levels, and working styles
Ability and desire to learn and take on responsibility quickly
Location flexible with a preference for candidates based in or near San Francisco, Chicago, Brooklyn, or Seattle (where other finance team members are based)

The expected salary range* for this position begins at $105,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, geographic labor market, and other factors consistent with applicable law. This position is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
