Job Description
The Solutions Architect will support Defense and Intelligence customers by implementing, integrating, and analyzing software and data products on the Planet Platform, helping to tailor solutions that enhance operational workflows and mission capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, integrate, and analyze new software and data products to extend the Planet Platform for defense and intelligence customers
- Train users on Planet products and workflows to ensure effective adoption
- Translate operational requirements into actionable product feedback for engineering teams
- Design workflows, define data models, configure integrations, and develop tooling aligned with customer missions
- Support customers in accessing and utilizing Planet's datasets and analytics tools
- Collaborate closely with customer teams to understand their workflows, pain points, and mission priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software, Systems Engineering, or similar fields.
- At least 4 years of experience supporting Defense and Intelligence (D I) customers, with specialized technical experience in systems integration.
- Fluency in Golang, Python, and Postgresql, with experience in React or related technologies.
- Experience with cloud deployments on GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Solid problem-solving and systems thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to quickly learn new technical domains and tools.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-pressure environments.
- Fluency in translating between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with solving complex problems through analytical skills.
- Experience scaling and maintaining production systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Experience with systems integrations working with multi-domain, multi-level security architectures, particularly in Defense and Intelligence sectors.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and its mapping libraries such as OpenLayers, Leaflet, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, or Google Earth Engine and its SDK.
- Experience with RDBMS including PostgreSQL, SQL, and distributed databases.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Experience in geopolitics and data science.
- Ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
- Experience with building analytical products from complex datasets.
- Experience with geospatial technologies and data, including GEOINT, imagery exploitation, and analysis.
- Fluency in multiple languages (preferred but not mandatory).

US National Salary Range $93,420 - $116,730 USD
