Job Description
The role involves leading the talent acquisition function at Planet, developing recruiting strategies, managing a team of talent partners, and building systems to attract and hire top talent across multiple business units and geographies, with a focus on scaling and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and set the strategic direction for the Talent Acquisition (TA) function across all business units and geographies.
- Build and maintain a capacity planning model to align TA resources with business hiring demands.
- Implement and manage a pod-based recruiting model with domain-aligned Talent Partners.
- Manage and coach Talent Partners and Sourcers to ensure effective sourcing, candidate engagement, and hiring outcomes.
- Oversee relationships with external recruiting agencies, search firms, RPOs, and other partners to extend recruiting capacity.
- Develop and maintain TA analytics and reporting to monitor pipeline health, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and capacity forecasts.
- Partner with workforce planning to translate business headcount needs into TA resource requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in recruiting operations by optimizing processes and tools.
- Manage a portfolio of strategic requisitions, primarily senior-level or complex cross-functional roles.
Requirements
- 6 years of progressive talent acquisition experience.
- 4 years in a leadership role managing a team of talent partners or talent partners at a scaling technology company.
- Experience building and operating a capacity planning or workforce planning model that connects talent partner headcount and delivery capacity to business hiring targets.
- Experience designing or operating a pod-based, domain-aligned, or business unit-embedded recruiting model, not just generalist delivery-on-demand.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to build dashboards, interpret pipeline data, and translate recruiting metrics into strategic recommendations for leadership.
- Experience managing external recruiting partners such as staffing agencies, search firms, contract talent partners, and RPO vendors, including activating them effectively without over-reliance.
- Ability to recruit and close senior-level candidates directly, particularly in competitive technical markets.
- Excellent communication skills capable of presenting staffing strategies to senior leadership, coaching talent partners through difficult closes, and partnering with hiring managers on role scoping within the same day.
