Job Description
A Data Engineer at Planet is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise ETL pipelines and data tooling using cloud technologies, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions, insights, and visualizations to support decision-making and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build enterprise ETL pipelines and self-service data tooling using cloud technologies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions and insights
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve data pipelines and architecture
- Create data visualizations and insights to support decision-making and monitoring
- Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback within the data team
Requirements
- 4 years of relevant experience in data engineering or related fields
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Experience in Python and SQL
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining ETL pipelines
- Experience with maintaining peer-reviewed code, building and debugging CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with cloud architectures and services, such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS
- Experience with building and deploying data solutions including architecture, implementation, CI/CD, orchestration of pipelines, QA, visualization, and effective data communication
- Ability to communicate and collaborate across teams
- Good organizational skills and ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously
