Job Description
The role involves managing and expanding relationships with government and public sector clients across Europe, helping them utilize Planet's satellite imagery and geospatial data for environmental, emergency, land management, and other critical applications. The position requires strategic account management, customer support, and collaboration with internal teams to maximize the value of Planet's solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand relationships with government customers in the DACH region to ensure they achieve their mission objectives using Planet's products
- Identify opportunities for account expansion, drive renewals and upsells in existing accounts
- Facilitate customer training, onboarding, and best practices for integrating Planet data into GIS and remote sensing workflows
- Advocate for customer needs internally to improve products and features based on feedback
- Collaborate with sales, product, and marketing teams to support customer success initiatives, case studies, and events
- Share insights on key accounts and contribute to strategic planning for customer growth and retention
Requirements
- Six (6) years of experience in Customer Success, account management or similar roles, ideally supporting government organizations as a customer
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field
- Advanced working knowledge of remote sensing, GIS or geospatial imagery products
- Ability to develop long-term strategic plans for each customer that align with their policy goals, project timelines, and budget cycles
- Solid organizational skills to manage multiple customers at once, prioritize tasks, and keep projects on track
- Ability to successfully communicate and coordinate with international customers and sales teams
- Solid problem solving skills, proactive work style and ability to work independently
- Ability to translate customer challenges into solutions using Planet’s data and services
- Professional working proficiency in English, the language of the company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel
