Job Description
A Cloud Engineer at Planet is responsible for building, deploying, and managing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS, supporting the company's mission to provide Earth observation data through innovative cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code on GCP and AWS
- Automate operational tasks and improve system reliability through scripting
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Implement and manage networking solutions within cloud environments to ensure secure and efficient data flow
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure
- Create self-service cloud environments for internal stakeholders to enhance their efficiency
Requirements
- Four years of relevant experience in cloud engineering or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
- Proficient experience with cloud platforms GCP and AWS.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience with scripting languages Bash, Python, and Golang.
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems.
- Experience working with containers and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Podman, and Docker.
- Experience implementing and managing networking solutions within cloud environments to ensure secure and efficient data flow.
