Job Description
The Cloud Engineer will design, deploy, and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS, supporting Planet's mission by creating self-service environments for internal teams and ensuring efficient data flow and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code on GCP and AWS
- Automate operational tasks and improve system reliability through scripting
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Implement and manage networking solutions within cloud environments to ensure secure and efficient data flow
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure
- Create self-service environments for internal stakeholders to utilize cloud resources effectively
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud platforms in line with company values
Requirements
- 4 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering or related roles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field
- Proficient experience with cloud platforms GCP and AWS
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Experience with scripting languages Bash, Python, and Golang
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems
- Experience working with containers and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Podman, and Docker
- Experience implementing and managing networking solutions within cloud environments to ensure secure and efficient data flow
