Job Description
The Solar Performance Engineer Asset Operations Maintenance is responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of solar assets through data-driven diagnostics, automation, and collaboration with asset managers to improve energy yield and protect investment returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the establishment of automated data sanity checks to monitor asset performance
- Ensure current and future asset performance aligns with project proformas
- Diagnose underperformance issues using SCADA data and support action plans
- Identify systemic issues, optimize energy yield, and recommend improvements
- Provide insights and recommendations to asset modeling, DAS systems, and field service teams
Requirements
- A background in electrical engineering and data science with the ability to leverage this knowledge to identify systemic issues, optimize energy yield, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Experience supporting the establishment of automated sanity checks on data to ensure asset performance aligns with project proformas.
- Ability to diagnose underperformance issues using raw SCADA data and support the development of action plans with asset managers to improve performance.
- Experience building automated data analysis tools and systems to support asset management and field maintenance activities.
- Understanding of current and future performance metrics of renewable assets to ensure they are in line with project proformas.
- Experience supporting field service work related to solar asset performance and maintenance.
- Proficiency in analyzing data to identify systemic issues affecting energy yield and asset performance.
- Ability to support asset modeling and DAS system interface optimization based on data analysis.
- Strong communication skills to support collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.
- Educational background or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, data science, or related fields.
