Job Description

This role involves leading the development and growth of strategic accounts within the Industrial Components and Electronics Division, focusing on creating strategic plans, building customer relationships, managing cross-functional teams, and driving revenue and profitability in data center and industrial automation markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives for assigned accounts, focusing on revenue growth, profitability, and relationship expansion.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across management, procurement, operations, quality assurance, engineering, sales, and estimating departments.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to support account development, project transitions, and customer service improvements.
  • Coordinate and lead business reviews, monitor competitive activity, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and present proposals and presentations to customers, supporting sales efforts and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage price negotiations and communicate actions to relevant internal teams, integrating channel strategies.
  • Utilize CRM tools for customer planning, reporting, and opportunity tracking.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of products and solutions within the area of focus.
  • Participate in industry associations, distributor, and customer events to promote the company's brand and solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience in a technical discipline.
  • 5 years of proven success in Industrial Controls and Automation Sales required.
  • Experience with Data Center, systems design, components, construction, commissioning, or service required.
  • Experience in working with global and high-profile accounts preferred.
  • Proficiency in BASE selling skills and the ability to build mutually beneficial customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated competence in establishing and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent networking, interpersonal, and influencing skills needed to communicate at all levels.
  • Successful history in achieving strategic and sales targets.
  • Experience managing sales through distribution channel a plus.
  • Must be able to travel via airplane and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs (samples, demos, literature).
  • Must be able to travel overnight 35-45% or as required by customer location.
  • Some international travel required; valid passport needed.
  • Must comply with company dress code guidelines.
  • Must have regular and on-time attendance.
  • Must be able to develop and lead the development of strategic plans and initiatives for assigned accounts.
  • Must be able to organize and lead cross-functional teams with appropriate members of Phoenix Contact.
  • Must be able to manage project transitions including specification, bid, procurement, and implementation, and oversee health of the opportunity pipeline.
  • Must be able to develop presentations and proposals for assigned customers, soliciting support from divisional resources as needed.
  • Must communicate price negotiation actions to subsidiary teams including the integration of the channel.
  • Must utilize current CRM as the primary customer planning, reporting, measurement, and opportunity tracking tool.
  • Must demonstrate technical competence on all products and solutions within the area of focus.
  • Must maintain all corporate policies, procedures, and programs including quotations, lead follow-up, and timely reporting.
  • Must assist in the sales promotion of packaged control systems and end-to-end solutions created by the Control and Industry Solutions division where applicable.
