Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Discovery leads early-stage microbiome research and discovery efforts, overseeing assay development, pre-clinical studies, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to develop innovative probiotic products that improve human health on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead early-stage research and discovery efforts to support innovation pipeline.
- Guide discovery strategy and oversee assay development.
- Drive pre-clinical research activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product claims, safety, and early product and process development.
- Manage research teams and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration.
Requirements
- A PhD degree in a relevant scientific field such as microbiology, molecular biology, genomics, or a related discipline.
- Experience managing research teams and leading early-stage research and discovery efforts.
- Ability to guide discovery strategy and oversee assay development.
- Experience driving pre-clinical research activities.
- Experience collaborating across disciplines including microbiology, genomics, pharmaceutical development, and nutrition.
- Ability to support product claims, safety assessments, early product and process development, and regulatory readiness through research.
- Strong scientific background with expertise relevant to microbiome research and probiotic development.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment with agility, creativity, and collaboration skills.
