The Configuration Architect will design and implement infrastructure and processes to support engineering release systems and digital thread integration, enabling efficient scaling and mass production of ocean-based renewable energy technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement infrastructure, processes, and tools to support engineering release systems and digital thread.
Build and maintain a model-based engineering environment to accelerate product release, manufacturing, and scaling.
Ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the engineering release process and related infrastructure.
Lead the implementation of Model-Based Definition and Digital Product Definition practices.
Identify and address process and tool gaps to improve release velocity.
Integrate PLM data and infrastructure with broader digital thread and scaling initiatives.
Collaborate with teams to align configuration management practices with design, manufacturing, and business needs.
Develop documentation, training, and governance to support system adoption and compliance.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee system customization, integration, and implementation.
Provide technical leadership in PLM system administration, customization, and API development.
Develop and maintain the long-term PLM roadmap aligned with digital transformation and scaling goals.
Requirements
Ten (10) years of experience administering and supporting PLM systems in high-consequence industries such as aerospace, defense, energy, or automotive.
Experience architecting and maintaining configuration management systems for production environments handling many thousands of configuration items.
Deep knowledge of configuration management standards and frameworks, e.g., CMII certification or equivalent experience.
Strong technical foundation in engineering, computer science, or information systems.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Track record of hands-on implementation and improvement of release processes and PLM integrations.
Experience owning the efficiency and accuracy of the engineering release process and associated infrastructure.
Experience designing and leading the implementation of Model-Based Definition Digital Product Definition practices.
Experience addressing process and tool gaps to support engineering release velocity.
Experience ensuring PLM data and infrastructure are tightly integrated with the broader digital thread and scale initiatives.
Experience partnering across teams to align configuration management practices with design, manufacturing, and business needs.
Experience building documentation, training, and governance practices to support adoption and compliance.
Experience proactively identifying opportunities to streamline and modernize tools, workflows, and system integrations.
Experience working with CAD NX process specialists and administrators to ensure seamless CAD PLM workflows.
Experience managing relationships with vendors and external consultants, driving successful implementations and customizations.
Ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with PLM system administration, customization, and API-level development.
Willingness to travel to vendors and test sites as needed.
Ability to intermittently work longer hours and weekends to support critical needs.
