Job Description
The General Manager of Palmetto Accelerator is responsible for leading strategic investments in new growth areas, overseeing pilot programs, evaluating market opportunities, and driving long-term company expansion through innovative, data-driven decision-making and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic investment in new growth areas and oversee their development towards profitability or deprioritization.
- Source, evaluate, and test high-potential concepts through investment mechanisms and pilot programs.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses to assess potential returns and inform capital allocation decisions.
- Develop and monitor metrics frameworks to evaluate product-market fit and pilot success.
- Manage the investment budget, re-prioritizing resources based on performance and success metrics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to structure, launch, and adapt pilot programs based on early results.
- Identify and manage strategic partnerships from evaluation to implementation.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning, balancing short-term wins with future growth opportunities.
- Lead and develop teams working on different strategies to support organizational growth.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including creating concise summaries and presentations.
Requirements
- Proven ability to analyze complex data, set KPIs, and structure the testing needed to evaluate investment areas and pilot programs.
- Strong cross-functional collaborator, able to build trust, alignment, and support from cross-functional partners and senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, with the ability to create 1-page summaries and 6-page deal decks that help leadership make informed, efficient decisions.
- Self-starter and structured thinker experienced at breaking down complex challenges and opportunities with clear frameworks and processes.
- Highly adaptable to changing situations and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Must have a phenomenal understanding of capital allocation.
- 12 years of progressive experience in either General Management (GM), Product, or Go-To-Market (GTM) positions, owning both strategic direction and operational execution.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a zero-to-one mentality.
- Early-stage startup experience, or experience working on emerging products within a later-stage company, working with limited resources, team, capital, time, aggressive goals, and compounded urgency.
