Job Description
At nVent, we connect and protect our customers with inventive electrical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer (Electrical‑Controls) to join our engineering team and drive reliability excellence across electrical and control systems in new and existing products. This role will focus on embedding reliability into design and development processes, ensuring long‑term system availability, and reducing field failures.
§ Lead reliability analysis for electrical and control systems, including sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and power electronics.
§ Derive requirements for electrical systems and perform DFMEA, and MTBF calculations for electrical‑control components and subsystems.
§ Develop and execute accelerated life testing and reliability growth plans for CTR (Critical‑to‑Reliability) parts.
§ Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supplier teams to integrate reliability requirements into NPI (New Product Introduction).
§ Analyze field failure data (FRACAS/8D) and drive corrective actions to eliminate recurring issues.
§ Review electrical schematics and conduct derating analysis for electrical/electronic components to identify reliability risks and ensure robust design margins.
§ Generate Weibull plots, Pareto charts, and reliability dashboards to communicate performance trends to leadership.
§ Support supplier reliability assessments and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
§ Document and present reliability findings in design reviews and technical reports.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic & Controls Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in Electro Mechanical systems with reliability engineering, as key deliverables.
Strong knowledge of reliability tools and methods (Ex. D/PFMEA, Weibull analysis).
Hands‑on experience with electrical sensors, control systems, and industrial automation.
Hands on experience in reliability end to end testing starting from test plan till validation and sign off
Proficiency in Electrical/electronic schematic reading and circuit understanding undefined
Proficiency in reliability data analysis tools (e.g., ReliaSoft, Relyence , Minitab, MATLAB, or equivalent).
Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and technical documentation.
Experience with supplier engagement and reliability requirements in NPI programs is a plus.
Benefits & Perks
Opportunity to shape reliability processes in cutting‑edge electrical/control systems in Liquid Cooling Systems.
Collaborative environment with cross‑functional teams.
Professional growth through training, certifications, and exposure to advanced reliability practices.
