Job Description

The Senior HR Business Partner at Nuro will provide strategic and operational HR support to technical engineering teams, focusing on organizational effectiveness, talent management, change management, and employee relations to help scale and maintain a high-performing, inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic HR support to technical teams, aligning HR initiatives with business goals
  • Coach and advise leaders on team effectiveness, organizational design, and change management
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, including performance management, investigations, and employee exits
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance across employee relations and sensitive HR matters
  • Deliver organizational insights and talent diagnostics to inform leadership decisions
  • Partner with Talent Management on performance reviews, engagement initiatives, and leadership development
  • Design and implement HR programs and processes to support high-performing technical teams
  • Support compensation planning, promotions, and organizational leveling processes
  • Assist leaders through organizational changes such as team redesigns and leadership transitions
  • Maintain knowledge of employment law and HR best practices to ensure compliance
  • Identify and promote the adoption of AI-enabled tools to improve HR workflows and team effectiveness

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of HRBP experience supporting technical organizations.
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting Engineering or Hardware teams as an HRBP.
  • Experience supporting organizations through change, ambiguity, and evolving business needs.
  • Strong business acumen and a proven track record of influencing leaders and driving business outcomes through people strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers and senior leaders on performance, team effectiveness, and difficult people decisions.
  • Solid program and project management skills, with a structured, practical, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Comfort operating at multiple altitudes, from strategic planning and organizational design to day-to-day employee relations execution.
  • Experience using data and metrics to inform talent and organizational decisions.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and interest in applying them thoughtfully to improve team and HR effectiveness, while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate judgment.
  • Strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to build trust across functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
