This is a 12 month temporary full-time position with full benefits and potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
As a Software Reliability Engineer at Nuro, you will help design, build, and operate systems that support our autonomous vehicle platform and fleet operations. You will work across the full development lifecycle, from early design and deployment through operations and continuous improvement. You’ll join an on-call rotation to stay close to real-world operations. At its core, the role is building resilient systems through automation, observability, and operational feedback. This is an opportunity to influence how reliability is engineered into Nuro’s platform as it scales up and out across new cities.
• Experience writing and shipping software with an ownership mindset and attention to how it behaves in real-world conditions.
• Ability to build and maintain tools and automation (Python, Go, Bash, C++).
• Comfortable navigating systems remotely via SSH + CLI, and inspecting the state of a linux system and its services.
• Interest in reliability engineering as a growth path: you’re motivated to learn how to build distributed systems and the challenges of scaling them reliably.
