Job Description
The Sourcing Project Manager at Nexamp is responsible for managing supplier relationships, overseeing project timelines, and driving cost savings in the procurement of equipment and materials for clean energy projects, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute multiple project timelines related to supplier performance from preconstruction to PTO.
- Analyze quotations and utilize TCO tools to guide sourcing decisions.
- Support supplier selection and contribute to technology roadmaps and innovation efforts.
- Manage equipment lists for project completeness, material readiness, and milestone adherence.
- Direct a team of specialists to execute equipment orders and obtain engineering approvals.
- Oversee logistics and shipments to project sites.
- Negotiate prices and manage project equipment budgets.
- Track and report on equipment costs within assigned project portfolios.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders through effective communication.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in Supplier Quality Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Customer-oriented person with professional demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including effective written and oral communication abilities.
- ERP knowledge and experience, e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE, Baan, Visual, etc.
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing techniques, including strategic supplier concepts.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others.
- Understanding of inventory management requirements.
- Previous experience working in the development cycle of new products.
- Commodity Management, Materials Management, Procurement, and Project Management experience or education.
- CPIM or APICS certification or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Physical ability to work in a hybrid environment, with the ability to work from Boston or Chicago offices as required.
