Job Description
The position involves providing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar photovoltaic infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and safety of solar energy systems in a field-based role. It requires electrical expertise, technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work at heights in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled field maintenance of solar PV infrastructure
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify faults in solar systems
- Conduct electrical testing and document maintenance activities
- Write maintenance reports and track service cases
- Maintain relationships with customers, partners, and subcontractors
- Maintain and ensure safety of equipment and PPE
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and assist with process improvements
- Ensure proper operation and troubleshooting of grid-tied PV and electrical systems
Requirements
- At least 4 years experience working in the solar or renewable energy industry in a maintenance or service position
- Electrical license preferred
- NABCEP certification preferred
- Driver's license in good standing required
- OSHA certification required
- Ability to use ladders and work at heights
- Possesses high level of understanding and technical expertise in all means and methods relating to PV commissioning, operation and troubleshooting
- Fully understands principles and safe operation of grid-tied, commercial PV and ancillary electrical systems
- Maintains thorough understanding of company, vendor, partner and subcontractor capabilities
- Sustains knowledge of emerging technologies and assists with process improvement
- Highly developed electrical and PV related troubleshooting skills and expertise
- Office skills including the use of computers, Microsoft Office, data acquisition systems, communications and remote computing
- Knowledge of Ethernet, cellular, fiber and machine to machine M2M communications
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications and procure materials and equipment when required
