Job Description
A field sales role involving face-to-face engagement with residential customers to promote and enroll them in Nexamp's community solar program, supporting the company's growth in clean energy adoption through door-to-door outreach and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel within assigned territory to engage residential customers and promote the community-solar program
- Present the value proposition of solar subscription products and explain benefits and savings
- Schedule customer enrollments and meet or exceed enrollment targets
- Maintain accurate CRM records of contacts, door knocks, follow-ups, and outcomes
- Work independently in the field while collaborating with internal teams for a seamless customer experience
- Represent the company professionally in various weather conditions and terrains
Requirements
- 2 - 4 years of sales experience, with field-sales preferred but strong drive and coachability matter most
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proven persistence and resilience, with the ability to expect rejection and bounce back stronger
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with homeowners
- Comfortable working outdoors, walking neighborhoods, and working a field schedule that may include evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to safely travel across your territory
- Self-motivated, coachable, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, etc., and digital sales tools (preferred)
- Fluency in English (preferred)
- Demonstrated passion for sustainability, renewable energy, or customer advocacy
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales or engagement goals
- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify root causes of problems, and present creative solutions
- Experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization
- Experience in showcasing initiative to improve current work, processes, products, and services across the organization
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and apply that knowledge to inform business decisions
