Job Description
The Senior Construction Superintendent oversees solar construction projects, managing site teams, ensuring safety and compliance, and coordinating with subcontractors to ensure successful project execution in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of construction superintendents and subcontractors on solar projects.
- Assign site leadership roles, monitor site performance, and provide coaching and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and construction standards, including OSHA and site-specific policies.
- Lead onboarding and ongoing training of site personnel and superintendents.
- Manage staffing strategies, including hiring, reassignments, and terminations for construction teams.
- Monitor project progress, assess risks, and recommend adjustments to meet project objectives.
- Oversee the review and completion of compliance documentation, QA/QC reports, and inspection logs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on solar construction methods, site logistics, and compliance.
- Advise senior leadership on operational performance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent the company in dealings with subcontractors, vendors, and on-site stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of construction management experience, preferably in the solar industry, with a successful track record in project management.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, with OSHA 10 as a minimum requirement.
- Maintains professional licenses in trade, such as CSL, NABCEP PV, etc.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Project, and various other construction management tools.
- Understanding of medium voltage systems and equipment is a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
- Valid and current Driver’s License.
