Job Description

The Equipment Strategy Program Manager at New Leaf Energy is responsible for managing and optimizing equipment used across renewable energy projects, coordinating with various departments to ensure efficient procurement, utilization, and reporting to support the company's clean energy development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order, manage, and optimize equipment used on projects
  • Assess project pipeline to determine equipment needs and make purchase recommendations
  • Analyze equipment usage to optimize applications across projects
  • Coordinate cross-departmental communication regarding equipment status
  • Provide reports and dashboards on equipment availability and impact
  • Prepare presentations for investment committees and boards
  • Develop processes and procedures to improve equipment utilization
  • Answer questions about equipment throughout project development
  • Collaborate on approving and adjusting equipment order specifications
  • Maintain vendor relationships, develop contracts, and manage purchase documentation
  • Track equipment delivery, costs, and manage invoice approvals
  • Coordinate handoff of equipment and vendor relationships to buyers
  • Close out post-project equipment obligations
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to equipment management

Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience working in the renewable energy industry with a focus on data management, inventory management, procurement, or development management
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional employee groups in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Mastery of Excel, databases, or CRMs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
  • Ability to analyze the project pipeline to assess equipment needs and make recommendations for additional equipment purchases
  • Ability to analyze the pipeline to make recommendations on use of equipment to optimize applications, with the input of internal subject matter experts
  • Understanding the economic impacts of using or not using equipment on specific projects to lead to informed and optimized decisions
  • Experience managing cross-functional communication to provide necessary information about equipment availability
  • Experience preparing monthly reports to business leaders about the status and impact of available equipment
  • Experience ensuring that reports and dashboards are in place to support informed decision-making outside of monthly reports
  • Experience preparing investment committee and Board presentations, as needed
  • Experience managing the creation of processes and procedures to improve equipment optimization
  • Experience answering questions about equipment during all phases of the project development cycle, including internal and external inquiries
  • Experience managing the process of approving and adjusting order specifications in collaboration with Development and Utility Engineering
  • Experience maintaining vendor relationships, developing equipment contracts, placing equipment orders, and maintaining all purchase documentation
  • Experience tracking deliverables associated with all equipment orders
  • Experience maintaining accurate records of equipment costs for forecasting purposes
  • Experience reviewing and approving invoices associated with equipment purchases and ancillary costs
  • Experience collaborating with Finance and Accounting to allocate appropriate costs to equipment
  • Experience managing the handoff of equipment, vendor relationships, and warehouse facility relationships to buyers
  • Experience closing out post-closing obligations related to equipment
  • Ability to proactively identify and work on new process improvements in coordination with other stakeholders
